順番を数える英語の序数詞

英語の序数詞、順序数詞は、「第～番」「～番目」「～つ」など順番を数えるとき、また日付、分数を表すときに使います。

基本的なルールは数の後ろにthを付けます。例外は下一桁が１，２，３のときで、１はfirst、２はsecond、３はthirdとなります。例外の例外として１１，１２，１３だけはthが付きます。序数詞を口頭で読むときはtheが付いていなくても必ずtheを付け足して読みます。

数字の後ろがveの場合fthになり、yで終わる場合はyが落ちるなど、スペルが変わる場合がありますが、接客英語では序数詞の読み方さえマスターすれば、スペルは特に覚える必要はないでしょう。
